Merry CHRISTmas!

I just want to tell everyone Merry Christmas…and I do mean Christmas not X-mas. This is something that has bothered me for years. I can’t stand it when people write X-mas! The whole purpose of Christmas is to celebrate Christ and to take him out of the word, to me means that Christmas means something else, something more worldly. I’ve even seen campaigns out there to take Christ out of the holiday because this is a holiday for all. Excuse me? Ah…do you even get the jest of why Christmas even started?!?

I think that’s what I have the hardest time with. I think of myself as a religious person and to see others cut me down because I want to celebrate my religion as well as others strikes a nerve. So to all Christians everywhere, MERRY CHRISTMAS…and let’s keep Christ in Christmas!

Actually, the X in Xmas is an ancient abbreviation of Christ often used by Christians. X is the Greek letter Chi and is the first letter in Χριστος, which is Greek for Christ; in ancient Europe Christ was often abbreviated to χ or χρ.

But no one remembers that, do they?

I just looked up that wikipedia article so I could post it, but Richard beat me to it.
I know some people use the X to take out Christ, but the joke's on them it still represents Christ!
I howeever am not Roman so like you I prefer CHRISTmas.
Merry Christmas Nicole!

Ooooh, it hits a nerve with me to see Xmas... I'm always like... UGHSEOIHEIRHERJEOIJ!!!!!!! Stupid people...

And I think I even heard someone trying to pass it off like... "Oh, someone found out that X means Christ. Back in the greek days... blah blah blah blah... turns out we CAN say Xmas because X is equal to Christ..."

I'm like: PUKE! Whatever!!!

Anyway, hope you had a MERRY CHRISTMAS! ;)
